Step 4 Types of Adsense ads
There are different types of AdSense ads.
The most common are text ads and image ads. Text ads use words and a link.
They come in different sizes and you can customize the color of the box and the text in the link.
The text area is actually being phased out by Google at the time of this article /video.
Image ads are graphics ads. They also come in a variety of sizes so you can decide what is best for your site.
There’s also a completely automated option where you don’t have to do anything at all.
5. Google Adsense payments
As I mentioned earlier Google will pay you monthly by direct deposit into your bank account or by check but you do need to reach the $100 threshold.
If you haven’t earned $100 dollars in any given month then the amount you have earned will roll over into the next month.
Each time you reach the $100 threshold Google will issue payment in the next payment period.
6. How to increase Adsense revenue
In order to make money with AdSense over the long term there are some things you need to do:
Read the rules. This is one of a small number of situations where you actually do need to read the rules.
They’re constantly changing and it’s very very easy to accidentally do something that violates the rules.
The first rule of AdSense is don’t click on your own ads and don’t tell anyone else to click on your ads and don’t incentivize your readers to click on your ads.
If you do any of these things your account will get canceled instantly.
After reading the rules and getting an understanding of what you can and cannot do you can start to focus on things that make you money.
Revenue from AdSense is dependent on doing two things:
- Bringing in traffic. There are a million ways to bring in traffic. I have other videos about how to generate traffic so check them out.
- Converting the traffic into clicks on ads.
The first thing you need to do to convert traffic into clicks on ads is to create the best content that you can come up with.
If your content sucks, people won’t stay on the page long enough to give your ads any chance of being noticed.
On the other hand, if the reader is diligently reading your content then it will be almost impossible for them to avoid seeing your ads.
This doesn’t mean that they will click on them but at least you have a chance.
This is the minimum that you have to do.
Write an article that is interesting enough to hold somebody’s attention and insert ads in between compelling paragraphs in the article.
It’s very simple to understand but it obviously takes a little bit of time and effort to create compelling content.
You have the ability to customize the advertising block from AdSense so try to select colors that stand out within your content.
In the meantime, you can also try the opposite strategy.
Some people have found that making AdSense ads blend in with their content results in more clicks.
Just keep in mind that one of Google’s rules is to make sure that the reader is aware that an ad is really an ad.
If Google thinks that you’re trying to make your ad appear to be anything other than an ad they will probably cancel your account.
So the net result is to create content that holds people’s attention, stay up to date with the rules, test different tactics that don’t break any rules, and continue testing until you find the best results.
